Thomas B. (Tiger) Buford, Vice President, Research and Development, NovaLign™ Orthopaedics, Inc.
Tiger Buford is the vice president of research and development. He is responsible for all products, research, packaging, early technologies and patents worldwide.
Tiger joined NovaLign™ Orthopaedics, Inc. in January 2008 as the third employee. Prior to joining NovaLign, Tiger had a long history of leading business-focused technology in the orthopedic industry. He served at Wright Medical Technology for six years in various positions including senior director of business development and senior director of product development extremities, biologics and knees. During his seven years at Sulzer Orthopedics, he held positions of business development manager, technical marketing manager and senior product development engineer. His orthopaedic career started with an internship in product development at Smith & Nephew where he later became a product development engineer, helping to develop the Genesis™ Total Knee System with Jeff Roberts.
Tiger has brought more than 50 new devices through the development process and into commercialization. He also holds patents for total joint devices. Tiger earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Memphis.
